Unable to Install Brave from AUR or Chaotic-AUR

I tried installing Brave from both the AUR and Chaotic-AUR, but I ran into the error shown in the screenshot. I also tried using AI to fix it, but it couldn’t solve the problem.
~ >>> brave -version
Brave Browser 154.1.96.61
~ >>> brave

Does this happen only when installing Brave? Works for me on my TROMjaro and the error you are seeing seems not related to the Brave package.

The installation process didn’t encounter any errors. I used Claude to find a way to fix it, and I was able to get Brave running. However, I’m not sure if this might cause any problems later on. Below is what I did based on Claude’s instructions.
pacman -Qo /usr/lib/gtk-3.0/modules/libappmenu-gtk-module.so
sudo mv /usr/lib/gtk-3.0/modules/libappmenu-gtk-module.so{,.off}

archlinux, xfce

I would strongly suggest to not use these LLMs for such tasks unless you understand what they are telling you to do. You may end up creating more problems for yourself.

So the problem is Brave not starting on TROMjaro. I can confirm that. Tried from Manjaro’s repos and also AUR. I see a bug filled here about this issue Crash on Arch Linux · Issue #49912 · brave/brave-browser · GitHub

It can be GPU related…graphic drivers, etc.. Many Apps broken since Dec Update - Software & Applications - Manjaro Linux Forum Chromium based browsers ERROR (Brave and Chromium) - Software & Applications - Manjaro Linux Forum

For now I recommend to install the flatpak version. And in the meantime I will look for more answers but I am not sure this is a TROMjaro related issue, a Brave issue, or a driver issue.
